FAQ
Wait… is the venue at the airport?
Not the airport — an Art Deco masterpiece of an airport! A commuter airport by day and reception venue by night.
Why aren’t we getting a ceremony?
The ceremony itself was a small affair in Las Vegas attended by about a dozen of our dearest friends, closest family (genetically), and closest family (geographically).
Andrew’s family in particular is of a size that some have termed “unwieldy” — making it impractical to have a ceremony with a guest count greater than 12 but less than 100. The small-ceremony, large-reception model is a way around this.
If you think you should’ve been invited to the ceremony, that’s fair. You can attend the reception and harangue us in person.
What took you so long?
What are you, our therapist?
Are there other activities planned for the weekend?
Planned to take place? Sure. Planned in advance? Not really.
If you travel for this reception, we will make every effort to hang out with you on either Friday or Sunday, whether you’re family or friends. Exact details are to be worked out, but let us know when you’re planning to arrive and we’ll organize some get-togethers.
What’s the attire?
Semi-formal is suggested, but anything between cocktail attire and dressy casual is fine. Don’t stress about it.
Can I bring my kids?
If you’re family, yes! If you’re friends: almost certainly! Tell us how many when you RSVP; venue capacity is fixed, but it won’t be a problem unless literally all invitees plan to attend and bring all their kids.
We won’t have specific activities to keep them entertained, but your kids will not be the only kids in attendance.
Is transportation provided to/from the venue?
Afraid not. If you’re without a car and you’re interested in carpooling with other guests, let us know; we’re happy to facilitate shared Lyfts/cabs and whatnot.
Are you registered anywhere?
No! We have too much stuff. Please don’t give us more objects.
If you truly want to give us a gift, you can contribute toward our travel fund; we’re hoping to go to Paris in the near future. But your presence is the only gift we request.
What’s the food situation?
Dinner will be served. The exact menu will be posted here once it’s finalized. It will include a vegan appetizer and one vegan main dish on the buffet; several of the buffet sides will also be vegan. (Omnivores will also be happy.)
If you have special dietary requirements, please let us know when you RSVP. We can’t make promises, but we will make the caterers aware of these requests.
